God has always wanted to be with mankind. Curiously, most of these encounters with Him are somehow associated with a tree. There is this strange but beautiful theme all through scripture - serving as a constant invitation to come to the Tree of Life. Join us this Sunday morning as we explore this theme together.

Lonely, scarred, frustrated, hungry - these are all words describing various South Africans at the moment. Drawing on a rich biblical tradition, we'll explore how to navigate these uncertain times.

The cross and resurrection of Christ are some of the central happenings of human history.  They are very difficult events to ignore, even though they happened in a relatively unimportant country just about 2000 years ago.  The events around Jerusalem and Golgotha offer very controversial and for some offensive commentary on the human condition and a radical solution to our existential questions and brokenness.  What is the crucifixion-resurrection: A stumbling block; foolishness or the wisdom of God.  This talk investigates a Christian perspective on these questions.

This challenges our individualistic culture, but the reality is that Jesus does not only save you from your sins, but weaves you into a new community. Hence, following Jesus is something you cannot do alone.

Rodgers Atwebembeire is the Eastern Africa Regional Director of the Africa Centre for Apologetics Research (ACFAR), a ministry equipping believers in Africa for the defense of the faith, biblical discernment and cult evangelism. He is also the pastor of New City Community Church – a reformed Presbyterian Church in Kampala, Uganda. Rodgers lectures at several theological institutions on African Church history, Apologetics and New Religious Movements as well as serving on several Boards of like-minded para-church organizations.
